I'm interested in taking some violin lessons in Zug. I used to play for quite a while but haven't had the chance to keep up with it the past few years and now I'd like to pick it up again. Does anyone have advice on where I can take lessons or find someone to give me private lessons? I might also be interested in joining an orchestra.

Hi. I would contact the music school in Zug, which is down by the lake near the coop (light yellow building...). One of the receptionists speaks very good english and was really helpful to me. When looking for a teacher for my son, I also found the man from the small violin shop in the old town (I think on Unter-Altstadt) really helpful and a good resource for private teachers. I've seen that shop but never went inside. Thanks for the tip - I'll certainly go back and ask for a recommendation. I'll check out that music school too.

We tried to enrol our daughter in the music school in Zug, unfortunately applications need to be in by the end of May to start in September. We eventually found a lovely chap who started his own school with two other teachers. His prices are very reasonable and he is the epitome of patience. I don't know if he teaches violin certainly he does piano, sax, trumpet, flute, clarinet and oboe as well as double bass. If you want his number, PM me.
