Natuzzi Sofas

We're considering buying a Natuzzi sofa (www.natuzzi.ch) and would be interested to know if anyone has one and whether you'd recommend buying one or not.
Thanks for any feedback

We bought one a few years ago. Love it. Style called Tahira.

Re: Natuzzi Sofa's

We have a Natuzzi sofa which is about 7 years old. I absolutely love it because it is childproof and even with all kind of abuse it ages really well. The design is timeless and the shape firmly holds. Just to mention that we went for microfibre and not leather as it is practically stain-proof.

Re: Natuzzi Sofa's

Thanks so much for the info. We've seen one we really like but at 9 grand we're a bit hesitant. We're planning on getting it in leather as dont have any kids or pets.

Re: Natuzzi Sofa's

To be honest, I don't remember any more how much we paid for it, but I do remember that at the time it seemed like a major investment. So if you really like it, go for it, seven years from now you won't remember the price but you should still have a very good sofa. I almost feel that I may never need to replace mine, maybe my children will inherit it...

Re: Natuzzi Sofa's

A bit late, but we bought one 3years ago - looks good, but they scratched the leather when delivered (opened with a knife) so check it before you accept the delivery & it took @3months to arrive. The cushions seem to have lost some of their support in the first 18months and tried to contact them by mail (several different people and several times) but no response; so I must say I'm not sold. However ,2 friends also have Natuzzi sofa's and love them. Hope it works out for you.

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

In case anyone is interested, there's a sale on Natuzzi sofas Dubendorf at the moment. Popped in on Saturday, 30% off some of the display models, and up to 15% off in general.

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

We bought one three and a half years ago and it seems very good. It's leather so we put a rug on it before the dogs are allowed up and it's still looking new. Ikea do a neat little leather cleaning and nourishment kit which helps.

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

A very big store from Natuzzi is in Dübendorf, much much bigger than the one in Zürich-City. Have a look at natuzzi.ch for details. In Dübendorf, there is a friendly and good sales advisor, which by the way is not at all that common in Switzerland/Zurich area (have had the unfortunate experience to meet loads of arrogant and incompetent and generally annoying sales advisors)!

Till the end of July '09, Natuzzi offer 10% discount on all sofas etc, to celebrate Natuzzi's 50th Anniversary this year. Due to the low VAT in Switzerland, Natuzzi is relatively good priced in comparison with other European countries, ie Germany etc is more expensive.

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

We purchased a Natuzzi sofa and when it was delivered one large seat cushion had more than a dozen dark scars in the form of marks and lines. Naturally none of the show room models had anything like this visible and we were not advised that this sort of serious and visible scarring was likely or even possible before our purchase. Natuzzi informed us that in this country and in Italy their organisation considers these "as acceptable natural scars and are within the standards required for this leather finish, hence nothing can be done." BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN BUYING NATUZZI!

They state the following on their website: "Markings such as scars, insect bites, wrinkles, veining are natural characteristics of genuine leather. If you purchased leather from Natuzzi's Protecta family, one that has been protected and finished to create a consistent, uniform look and feel- then you will see fewer marks. However, leather from our natural family will show more natural markings, such as insect bites, scars and stretch marks, as well as color variations. These color variations can occur within the same hide because there is no finish applied to give the look of consistent color like in our Protecta family. This is an indication of the authenticity of the leather, and should not be considered a defect. Actually, it should be treated as a "mark" of true, high quality leather".

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

I also got a Natuzzi sofa, and I think it's quite fine really.

The creases pick up some dirt/sand/etc, but I just vacuum them out now and then.

Natuzzi has a sale once a year, might be in January... I got something like 30 or 40% off when I bought mine and got it for less than 2000chf.

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

We also have the tahira sofa in microfiber very light beige.

It is sooo comfy, although we wouldnt by microfiber again, or especially such a light coloue. Our first son left his bottleof water on it and left a huge water stain on it that I cant get out. Also if someone is wearing jeans and sitting on it, the colour can transfer onto it. Also we go the extra soft version and the cushions have sagged :-(

I know these are all negative points but, we are considering getting the same sofa, in leather and a bit firmer as its sooo comfy!!

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

We have Natuzzi sofa for about two years, never had any problems. It is easy to clean, and leather doesn't lose its color. I like it a lot, next time I'll by Natuzzi obviously. Before buying read a lot on forums and many people are not satisfied with Natuzzi http://natuzzi-leather.pissedconsumer.com/, but we risked and now we are very pleasant.

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

Ours arrived around 2 weeks ago. It didn't seem as comfy as the display model, but it took about 2 days to settle in. We got one of the highest quality leathers so that we got the colour we wanted. Because it is so soft, you can already tell where I normally sit.

We bought ours from XXLutz in Friedrichshafen and saved around 25% of the Swiss price.

Re: Natuzzi Sofas

I have just bought a flat near Lugano and want to buy some Natuzzi furniture. Not sure whether I should buy in the UK and then ship over or buy locally. Does anyone have any experience of doing either. Information re suppliers near Lugano would be useful.
