Where to buy Muslin Fabric and Polyfil in Geneva

Hello everyone! I am taking an art doll making online workshop. I need to buy some supplies urgently.

I need about 1 yard of Muslin fabric, Polyfil/ Fibrefil (used to stuff the dolls), Dowels (long wooden sticks in different diameters) and Paperclay (used to sculpt the face of the doll).

I am going to Manor and Carouge MParc. I have found moulding clay at Carouge art section (hope it is the same thing as paperclay). But I am really confused about the muslin and the fibrefil (is it available in Geneva city)

Please help ASAP. Workshop starts today.

Thanks.

Dee.

Re: Where to buy Muslin Fabric and Polyfil in Geneva

Polyfill you can buy at the larger Coops: near the sewing things. Dowels you can buy at the DIY stores like MParc. Muslin: the cheapest is at Ikea, but otherwise you will probably have to look for a fabric store. The larger Manor & Coop stores have a fabric section, but this is generally for upholstery & curtains. If you need a lot, look for a cheap basic bed sheet.

EDIT: I see you only need a meter of muslin, I think you might find something that you can work with at the Manor or Coop. But what you need to look for is a merceire or a fabric store. You can look on the yellow pages.

Re: Where to buy Muslin Fabric and Polyfil in Geneva

Thanks a ton mimiMia for the prompt reply. I am going to Manor and Coop today. Hopefully, will get the muslin (along with polyfill) there. Before I leave, thought I would ask a crucial question:

1. What is 'Polyfill' referred to as? Is there is french name or do I just look for polyfill?

2. Also, 'Dowels' would be called what? and found in which section at MParc exacty?

Your post was very helpful, merci beaucoup.

Dee.
