Re: How do I throw away a smashed saucer?

But have you considered that the amount of crockery being disposed of in the hadron thing is what has caused it to break down.

Why has no one suggested the obvious, dispose of your litter by posting it to France.

In which way? I guess it depends on how you look at it:

1) Its so calm, organized, and peaceful that the only thing to worry about is how to recycle something

2) Its so uptight, stuffy, rule-filled here that even simple things like disposing of a saucer require you to consult people before proceeding

Re: How do I throw away a smashed saucer?

If you're considering replacing said saucer then I have a plan....

Find a cafe with similar saucers. Enter with your saucer cunningly hidden and order a saucer based comestible. Slip the good saucer in your bag and accidentally drop the broken saucer on the floor. Apologise profusely and offer to pay for a replacement.

The fact that this discussion takes place at all, tells the casual browser all they need to know about pressing concerns and attitudes in Switzerland.

I came across the results of what must have been a riveting debate in the Appenzeller parliament in somewhere between 1400 and 1600 - the precise date (not time) is irrelevent as the result has a certain timelessness - concerning the failure of a particular flag to include the penis on the bear - thus resulting in confusion as to whether the bear was male or female. As I understand it - I have little chance to practice medieval Swiss-German - a resolution was passed that the Appenzell Bear was only to be pictured with a penis.

You will notice that all relevant cantonal flags have a little red penis depicted. Thankfully this does not extend to the flag of Glarus.

I prefer to think that we all love the way things are here and don't want to change it by doing something wrong

Re: How do I throw away a smashed saucer?

I think as brett said, both apply. The first would have the prerequisite that you had some time on your hands, and you weren't preoccupied with ensuring that everyone else had adhered to the rules concerning recycling before you concentrated on your own Bier.
