Soldering Iron

Here's an odd question. I live in Basel and I need a soldering iron to repair a few of my electronic devices, where would be th ebest place to go to? I'm clueless. Would a DIY have one?! or some chain of shops?

thanks!

Re: Soldering Iron

Now theres a coincidence, I was looking for one just today. They can be ordered at the huge mail order electronics place conrad.ch, if you can wait. Otherwise most bau-and-hobby places will have them.

That would be illegal I would never do such a thing..

But really, I just have to fix a lamp and my iPod dock. It's that innocent.

Re: Soldering Iron

I bought one in Obi Dreispitz a couple of weeks back. They are with the power tools not the other electrical stuff.

Re: Soldering Iron

If you plan to use it more than once, ensure you get one with a themostat fitted - especially if you are going to use it for electronics.

Re: Soldering Iron

The german word thermostat appears to be the same. I just took a look on conrad.ch and they have load of irons in stock. They also had one of these :
COLD HEAT LÖTKOLBEN

which seemed quite interesting.
