Re: Mosquitos

I'm surprised because I'm usually bitten all over but haven't been this year. Maybe to do with being pregnant and therefore less attractive to all living things, I wondered?!? Or is that part just in my head !

I don't thing it is just in your head because I experienced the same thing when I was pregnant. Or maybe it's just in both our heads

Cleggs, are about half an inch long slim and brown, I don't know there proper name. Some people call them horseflies to I think, and if you get bitten by one of the little b*****ds you'll know about it, they actually hang one . They are not toxic, but a big red lump the size of 1 frank coin comes up that itches like a bugger and lasts about a week.

Re: Mosquitos

I find myself getting conastantly bitten over here that is with reppelent, and also the little blighters apear to be getting used to the stuff, so now i get bitten more. And just to make it that little bit worse i seem to have an adverse reaction to them and they get huge and red. People must look at me and think am diseased or something hahaha.

Re: Mosquitos

I hate those things. Only got bitten by one once last year but man did it hurt!! My shin looked like it had a golf ball attached to it. It didn't help matters when a "friend" wound me up by telling me they lay eggs when they bite and I was the breeding ground for the blighters!!! Obviously he was joking so do not panic

Saying that, everything likes to bite me. I wonder if they are attracted to pinot grigio??

Re: Mosquitos

I used to go diving to the west coast of Scotland. They have cleggs and the dreaded midgies. Tried everything and those buggers got through, anyway we got talking in the pub to a local and he said try this, and produced a bottle of Old Spice. When we all finnished laughing, the guy shook his head and called over his mate and asked him what he used for the midgies....he pulled a bottle of Old Spice out of his pocket to...hmmm.

Then we realised everyone smelt of the stuff...even the woman...and they weren't bitten or covered up like a bloody bedouin. Took a bottle from the guy and never got bitten again....we stank like a hooers handbag tho'

Mosquitos

I am almost certain I suffered a mosquito attack while in Zurich last weekend. Oh no! I am moving there soon!!! I react badly to their bites so better take care! Any tips appreciated! Cheers.
