Random question, but any recomendations for a good place to go in Switzerland for watches? somewere where there is a nice selection of shops all together in one place? with a mix of main brands and smaller ones, maybe second hand ones also?
Or, are the prices/selection pretty similar wherever you go? i.e. selection/cost in Bern, or Basel, or Luzerne, or Geneva would be the same as traipsing up/down Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich?
I'm thinking not, but thought I'd ask
Have my parents visiting and my mum wants 'a gold watch'.....
Manor (Bahnhof Str. Zürich) is having their annual stock clearance sale at the moment.
Many brands (swiss and other) are on 50% off. Had a look over the weekend and prices are decent, though I'm not sure you will find a solid gold watch in their selection but rather a gold finish one.
thanks for the tips - I know there is more to life than the Bahnhofstrasse!! but, being as parents are visitng - thought it would be an opportunity for a day trip, if anyone had any ideas.
Around Renweg and Lindenhof is already on the list

hi there
jelmoli is also having 50% on watches and other stuff as well. they have a varied variety as well. some of the stuff have gone. have a look.
cheers
Hong Kong! Cheapest place in the world to buy a quality Swiss watch at any time. But especially now with the recession you can bargain real hard unlike Bahnhofstrasse et al. The Chinese understand commerce! When the going gets tough they cut their margins.
