| | | Selling Jewelery
Would anyone know of a good place to sell a diamond ring and a name brand watch? I've had them sitting here doing nothing for years, and it is time to just get rid of them rather than let them gather dust in storage.
Would an auction be the best place for me to get the best price? Privately?
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I know it's nowhere near you, 'shell, but there is a place near Enge in Zurich that advertised to buy gold. A day out to the big city, perhaps? |

I've seen it from the tram. But given the Jewish community and their penetration here, I am sure there are a lot of places you can sell old diamonds.
Also consider having the diamond(s) reset. Or give them to my wife, she loves diamonds |

I'd thought about selling it at auction, but I don't know much about that and if it would pay a better return than a dealer who will give virtually nothing.
PS - your wife can buy it, but I don't guarantee that it carries with it good luck! |

Evilshell,
Diamonds have amazing healing powers. Diamonds are beautiful. Diamonds are worth keeping. On a good day I almost feel like a diamond.

Just want to mention here that diamonds, unlike other forms of precious stones or crystals, have no healing energy ...
There is from time to time the Schuler Auktion which they take in goods and auction them for you taking a 20% kommission. They will advertise the Tages Anzeiger...keep a lookout.

Diamonds are a rip-off thanks to DeBeers etc
Although, I have to credit them with one of the best marketing campaigns ever

This is something I found on the web:
Diamond:
Clarity is the key word to describe the uses of a diamond for psychological healing. This is the stone to wear if you have trouble making decisions, or are at a loss as to what to do with your life. It also helps those who start things all the time and never finish them.
The diamond is also a stone of communication and aids those who often feel left out of the loop to communicate clearly with others. It is good for those who feel consistently misunderstood or like they are socially invisible.
Diamonds have traditionally symbolized the commitment of one human being to another, but in this case they also symbolize a commitment to taking care of your higher self. The stone vibrates at a frequency that strengthens your intuitive abilities. It helps you perceive beyond surface appearance and understand the truth about another person.
Psychologically, wearing a diamond can help you manifest what you want in your life -- bringing airy-fairy ideals down into physical reality. This stone is excellent for artists, visionaries and inventors. The diamond connects you to the peaceful energies of the Archangel Gabriel, who helps you harmonize conflicts in your life.
I read about Diamonds having no specific healing energies somewhere but it seems to be untrue...hmmm....in my circle, diamonds have never really brought happiness....or clarity...be it due to human error or otherwise..

I'm bringing this thread back from the two year old dead as I'm getting ready to move and really don't want to move these two items again.
Would anyone have a suggestion on where I could sell on a diamond solitaire and a ladies Movado watch?
Thanks |

Do an EF raffle, tickets 20chf, or more.
OR, an auction might work well, as you yerself suggeste. That place Lob was talking about no longer exists, the bloke got murdered on the premises a while back. | Quote: | | | | | I'm bringing this thread back from the two year old dead as I'm getting ready to move and really don't want to move these two items again.

Does anyone know of this shop? http://www.schmuckmarkt.ch/pages/english.html
He buys gold but will also sell items on consignment. I am just wondering if anyone has ever visited this shop.

I called but he only buys 18K. His website says you don't need an appointment but he said he was too busy this afternoon. I found another shop that will buy 14K.
With ther record price of gold this is a great time to sell.

Did anyone happen to watch Kassensturz last night? There was a segment on selling gold. A jeweler told me in advance to watch it. It was really interesting to see the different offers for the same gold jewelery. They also showed how gold is melted down and showed how to test what karat of gold something is.
The highest price paid for gold jewerly was from Goldrausch. http://www.goldrausch.ch/
They have an online calculator and an interesting clip from where they were featured on SF Aktuell.
