| | | Portrait commission
I would very much like to have a portrait done as a family momento and I was wondering if anyone knows of, or has experience and could recommend, an artist who works around the Zurich area.
If anyone has any ideas I would very much like to hear them...
Thanks, Gal x

Have a look at Bartholomew's avatar... she got that done about a year ago, I think. Really lovely! She's away skiing until Wednesday, but I'll let her know you are looking for someone to do a portrait once she's back.

Just looked it up, wow, that's beautifully done but quite a serious looking portrait isn't it ? ... | Quote: | | | | | Have a look at Bartholomew's avatar... she got that done about a year ago, I think. That's just a detail, the actual portrait is bigger and shows her sitting on a sofa and reading. Done in chalks, I believe.

Erm... I just realised that Bartholomew's portrait was also done by Chris Solarski, recommended above by Sutter. Sorry for the confusion.
After she had it done by him, a colleague of his also did one - also very nice. Am not sure if it's the woman with the link given on Chris's profile, but could well be.

I'm sure Chris, being a perfect gentleman and a wonderful artist, will be happy to do anyone's portrait at any time, Sutter... |

I'm not sad, I'm rolling my eyes a bit. Because obviously, if you commission an artist and pay for the portrait, of course you keep the portrait. And of course you are welcome to go back for another portrait/sitting anytime you like.

However, even though Chris emphasises it is for his/their practice, I would think a contribution for materials and time - particularly since you seem really happy with the result - would be de rigeur...
