I have time on my side so I'm thinking of doing a Masters degree.

Money is honestly pretty tight, so I'm looking at reasonable options. Would anyone have any experience with doing an MBA online, or distance learning, or something along these lines?

Perhaps an inexpensive option in CH ... or do these 2 words contradict each other, 'CH' and 'inexpensive' ...

I would really appreciate your help.

You know that I love to tell people to search the fourm just as much as you do

but this thread had much noise and rather little information on "cheap" options.


Generally, the good distance programs with a serious amount of teaching, no matter which medium is used, will cost you. But the big financial plus is that you can continue to work and earn something... non financial benefit is that you are usually a bit mor flexible when you study exactly.

After having a good look around for a couple of weeks for something similar in Switzerland (or EU) my opinion is that it would be far better to take a UK course from a credible Uni like Birmingham or even Leicester which seem to have good online courses. Whichever way you do it it will cost & like I said, with the GBP/SFr exchange rate at the moment that seems to be the most reasonable in terms of cost.

All Masters programs online are expensive. I have yet to come accross an inexpensive option. Please do PM me with further details.

Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden has an MBA that is both online and free.

Yes, but I think if the OP is now looking for opportunities in June, he/she would most likely have to wait for 2010 anyway.

It's not widely known that university education in Sweden (and some or all (?) Scandinavian countries) is free, even for foreigners. And they have a few distance education masters, such as the MBA, one in geographical information systems, some others I can't recall right now.
