i was wondering if anyone knew of a portrait silhouette cutter that could attend a function in september, in montreux for 60 guests.
i have seen in vevey some very intricate paper cut outs but non of portait silhouettes. years ago in the uk i attended a party and had portrait silhouette made of me; it was amazingly accurate and would really love to have this as part of the entertainment in september.
i'd really appreciate it if anyone has any ideas or could point me in the right direction.
We had one at our wedding in England in 2007. He was excellent and really surprised the guests who couldn't figure out what he was doing to begin with. Like you, we'd met him years ago at another event and while planning the wedding, suddenly thought that it would be nice form of wedding entertainment. We found his name on a sticker on the back of our old silouhettes and googled him.
From his "wedding FAQ's" page: "My wedding will be in Timbucktoo! Can you help me? Yes, certainly we can. Although based in the South of England we do travel, and have attended events as far afield as Dubai, Edinburgh, Berlin & Marakesh! (You may have to consider travel costs.)"
I've no idea how much it would cost, but perhaps you could investigate how much it would be to bring him (or one of his colleagues) over if you can't find one locally.

hi Tolalala, if it's for the event I think it is, what a cool idea!
I'm not sure how to go about finding one here, but it seems to be an attraction for the region, so maybe the tourist board could help you with a list of artists?
The link is for Lake Geneva's tourism region, I've linked the media page because that's where they mention arts and crafts and silhouette cutting specifically:

how funny, he is the guy that did mine too! i had forgotten his name, but as soon as i saw the picture, i recognised him! we actually used him when i organised a black tie ball at university! and now i would like to have it at my wedding!
I suspect the reference to silouhette cutting that Bartholomew found is for a slightly different type, a form of decorative art featuring cutouts of cows/trees etc that you sometimes see hanging in Swiss chalets.
A bit like this (hit mute first if you don't like yodelling!):
