So.... that's how it works, where can I buy one of those little hammers and how hard should I strike? I have haf a couple of funny experiences in saunas. I use to love steam rooms and saunas. The first I was told by another woman that I must remove my bikini. I thought she was gay. So, I learned to go naktive, but whenever anyone tried to speak to me I would aplogize in English or just ignore them. I chose Steam rooms as there was lower visibility and chose a time when it was likely to be empty. Once, I thought I was alone until a frail voice came from the mist covered corner, totally freaking me out. He was reciting poetry that he had written for his wife. The last time I got in, someone spoke to me, I ignored them until they called me by name, they were the husbands of the English social club. I nearly died. Everytime I went to a social event after that I was so embarrassed, the guys would smirk, the wives were very nice, they never mentioned it.

I doubt the wives knew, which is why they remained nice.

I (male) was at the latest Spence Tunick installation in Macon and I'd swear one of the women there was a business contact of mine - if only by the way she kept trying to avoid my eye. Next time I see her (clothed) I'm going to give her a big lascivious smirk and see if she blushes

Er... I do. Because a sauna is not a single's party, but a place to relax? And most people in the mixed saunas in Zurich I have been to were actually couples.

I would be way more interested to know if he gets asked for his number fewer times in the male only sauna.

Thats perfectly fine, if you're just going for the sauna, but our friends here kinda seemed unhappy about it, hence I asked.

Just for info: Is it bad manners or rude if you get a "Hard on" in a mixed, naked sauna?

Bad manners would be pointing and laughing (at your own or others).

Why not? The only thing I do like with the mixed saunas is the fact that it lets you go there together with your partner once in a while.

Forget saunas, my wife would'nt even let me go to swimming pool (women in swimsuits)!!

Moving to Switzerland, wanted to being my swimming trunks as I live near the lake and she asked, why do you need them?

Actually, a bit offtopic, but reminded me of something I've been meaning to ask. Now, i am from a culture where being naked is also no big deal. Someone I know recently moved to Australia. She's pregnant and was going to one of those anti-natal classes. This is what she claimed happened: women there discussed all kinds of issues and worries and one said that her biggest worry is that she has to be naked during the actual delivery. In front of strangers. And she's already practicing, walking around naked in front of her husband for a few minutes every morning..but it's really embarrassing. And others had nodded and agreed that this really is very embarrassing.

So I'm wondering, did she manage to find a particularly prude bunch or is that attitude widespread?

A normal naked sauna is somewhat similar to a FKK beach, everyone's naked, get over it, but don't stare. It's just the same in a sauna, an occasional glance is ok, but you don't actually stare at other peoples dangly bits. And trust me, very little to do with voyeurism if you're naked yourself.
Just try it, it's perfectly natural and quite asexual.

First of all, it's not that easy to get one in a Sauna, especially if its well heated. You'll be concentrating more on your breathing and scratching yourself when the pores open up and you begin to sweat. Plus, many people tend to bend over a little bit versus standing fully upright, so even if you did get one, all you need to do is sit forwardd and it hides it perfectly well...

Finally, a numbe rof Saunas have the bench only set up against one wall, so it's not really easy to see anyone's dangly bits unless you crane your neck way to either side of your head, and I find most people just tend to look straight on.

I was not being a teaser! I actually wanted to go for a swim, its been a loooong time and the hotel I was staying in also had a nice pool!

Exactly! That is another thing that they've gotten wrong when they try to do the Sauna-thing here. They don't have a clue really on how to distribute the benches. Usually you actually _do_ end up looking into someones private parts here.

I think it was probably because of her first pregnancy and being in a foreign country, otherwise its quite normal in such situations. Just that some women would prefer to have female Midwives and Doctors etc.
