Hello All,

I'm staying in Oerlikon,Zurich with my family. We both are working in a company which is in Glattpark and we are looking for a full day English Day care/play school in Oerlikon or Glattpark or Glattburg or in Airport Area for my 4 yr old kid.

Thanks. TheHappyNest opened till 12 noon. But I need daycare or playgroup till 5pm or 6pm everyday.

Contact your local Gemeinde(council office) they will have a list of Swiss, and possibly some English speaking, day care places. You should also do searches here within the Forum and try www.xpatxchange.ch for a list of places.

I know there are a couple of playgroups in Bulach but that might be too far out for you.

Also, we just added a sticky to the family section here on the englishforum, and if you put in one of the german words and your locality or postcode, you should be able to come up with some childcares to try...

The other suggestion would be to put your child in a stroller and go for a walk around the local area, and to the local parks on a sunny day, and chat to other mums - that's how I found out about 4-5 within a short distance of our apartment - and they'll probably have an opinion/recommendation too!

The other thing is if you get a local community newspaper (all in German of course) go through and look at the advertisements - childcare centres tend to advertise in the local news...

I too am looking for an english speaking daycare or pre-school for my 20 month old. We found a place in glattburg so I'd like to find a place in the area or maybe oerlikon if it's not too far.
I would appreciate if you could post some links to these daycares and/or pre-schools.

I also don't understand much German (I count on learning the basics once I get there)

My daughter understands and speaks in english. She understand some French but I ultimately like to find a place where she wouldn't feel lost.
