One month in Zurich and still so much to do... I am now trying to find some
textiles for decoration, and don't know where to find variety and design. Any
suggestion?

There's a shop at Sihlporte (Tram 2) in Zurich City - but it's quite pricey. Here's their link:

There used to be a large selection in a C&A in town, but I think it closed down - or moved? I couldn't find it on google - maybe someone else knows.

Then, of course, there's always Ikea (Dietlikon, Spreitenbach being closest to Zurich)

Coop City St Annahof has a limited amount of material on some of the upper floors.

Manor on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich has a selection.

I was wondering where I could find dress fabrics in or around Zürich? I specifically need to look at laces for a wedding dress and really don't know where I would find this type of material.

hi Fern, my aunt likes a fabric shop at the end of Loewenstrasse for the fancy stuff. I don't know the name, but it's visible from the Sihlstrasse tram stop, on the corner of Loewenstrasse and the main thoroughfare perpendicular to Loewenstrasse.

I've gone with her a few times, and they have been quite nice. If they don't have what you're looking for, I'm sure they'd point you in the right direction.

There's one in Oerlikon (next to Burger King accross the train station).
Or, why not go to Konstanz that is about 45min drive away from Zuerich. There is a department store in the center, called Karlstadt. They have a lot there.

I was wondering if while looking for fabric anyone found any good shops - I am looking for something with sort of Alpine scenes on it (cheesy but its for an appartment Klosters)..... I found some lovely stuff but it was 290chf a meter!! Way too expensive.

I've looked in Manor, Coop etc but they don't have anything so wondered if anyone knew of an online shop - either Switzerland, German, UK or US - but it has to be very alpine

Would like to know where can I buy inexpensive fabric in Zürich. I am not looking for flashy patterns, rather the Cath Kidston and Martha Stewart style. Please let me know if anyone have some recommendations, thanks a lot

You can find some nice and reasonably priced fabric at Näh-Szene on Talacker in Zurich: http://www.naeh-szene.ch/

The only other store I know of is a few blocks away from Näh-Szene, at the intersection of Talacker, Sihlstrasse and Uraniastrasse. They have very nice fabric, but more on the pricey and designer side.
