I know there are a couple dozen products on the market to do this, and
seeing the wide selection I am stumbling with my decision. Hopefully
someone has some experience and can give me a push in the right
direction.
Here is the situation: I listen to Internet-Radio and MP3s quite often when
I am here in the studio. I have a nice active speaker system from Philips
on this computer and cannot complain. However, with a (IMO) quality
Bose music system collecting dust - it should be possible to link the best
of both worlds and listen to the Internet-Radio via my Bose system.
Optimally, controlled via I-Tunes, the signal would be sent via WLAN to
the receiving device which is hard-wired to my Bose system. I am not
into video, just music.
This is where I am asking for assistance from the experienced here.
Which device would you suggest? Which specifications should I look
for? Which qualities should I avoid?
Re: Assistance Internet-Radio to Home Stereo via WLAN
Thanks for the tips!
FYI, I have ordered the Apple Airport Express. The SqueezeBox does
most of what I would like to do... except control via iTunes. Sure the
WiFi remote is pretty impressive, my computers are on 24/7 and control
via iTunes is my preference.
On top of that, my Bose system (with two speaker locations) is still
adjustable via the remote, within 150 meters and through walls. Plus,
the new iPhone that should arrive soon offers the "Remote" app which
acts as an Airport Express & iTunes remote when connected to the WLAN.
