Folk Sessions Basel

Hi,

I'm a musician, just moved to Basel. I've been playing pop songs on piano for a few years.

Now I'm interested in doing Irish folk music. I've got an accordion I can play not *too* badly and a mandolin I can hardly play at all. I'm an OK singer.

Are there any folk sessions going on in Basel or nearby? If not, is anyone into starting one.

I'm thinking we could set one up and make it part of the scene if it doesn't exist already. Just get some musos together in the corner of a pub on a week night and bang out some Irish and Scottish tunes. The way it's meant to be.

Cheers,

Gordon

ps If there's a better place on the forum for this could someone move it please.

Re: Folk Sessions Basel

Hi - I see that I'm replying to this quite some time later, but was wondering if you did find something? Or start a group?
I'm a singer (and piano player, but mainly singer), staying in Switzerland for a few months, and this sounds like it could be a great environment to learn some new folk tunes...
