soldering iron and other electronic hobby items in zurich?
I dropped my little Sandisk MP3 player, and now it won't switch on - pretty sure the battery wire snapped off (it's happened before) so I just need to bust it open and resolder if (did that before).
Only problem is I left my soldering iron at home before I boarded that flight here!
Are there any electronics hobbyists here? I would actually love to get back into electronics as a hobby... I have this nagging desire to have some fun with a bucket of LEDs.
Yes, I know there's ebay, but it would be kind of nice to be able to walk into a store (in Zurich) and pick up some things - especially tools moreso than components. Any recommendations?

Jumbo or Co-op do it sell those sort of tools. I'm sure someone has also suggested somewhere for components, if so you you'll find it sing the search function.

Coop has a limited selection of soldering irons and I couldn't find solder in a small enough band there, so I needed to remove some off other old electronic items.
Conrad electronics is the place to go. Even their catalog is a good read if you like electronics!

If you don't mind coming out to Glattbrugg, I have a medium size iron and solder, but probably out of solder wick. I'm mostly home, so if you need, just pm me. I'm sure you only need a few minutes work on it, so no sweat.
