Was wondering if any of you ladies out there have ever commissioned a tailor to make a dress for you from scratch, or know of any good tailor that does it? So far, the results for the searches I've done on this forum have only been about alterations.

I am in love with a dress so am exploring this option without having to pay the full price for that dress. Appreciate any advice.

I would have thought that having the dress made from scratch by a professional tailor in Zürich is going to cost a hell of lot more than just buying it off the shelf in the first place.

These ladies, who speak fluent English, have a number of models you can chose from. Once you find your model, they make the necessary amends on your body you do the piece with the fabric you chose. It takes about 6 weeks to have your piece done - you can try it once to make sure that no further amends are needed.

I can highly recommend them. They have impeccable taylor skills (cut an sew), and their fabrics are fantastic.

I hope not! If the professional tailor is going to charge me above the budget that I've set, I'll have scrap that idea too. *sniff*
