Benefits when turning 65?

I have recently turned 65 (June) but am still working on a B permit until January 2010. Are there any benefits that I can take advantage of, like reduced bus fares etc?.
Also, if I want to renew my work permit, do I have to be working?

Re: Benefits when turning 65?

you can get a cheaper GA when you're over 65; Halfprice card is the same price.

As you appear to be non-EU (and appear also to be in Canada), you might want to check how retirement in Switzerland might affect you. I'd assume you would need to show how the state will not have to support you.

Best asked at your local office. How long did you have your B permit thusfar and for how long is your present permit valid?

Thanks for info. What is GA? I am working in Zurich since July 2008 and have both Canadian and British passports (unfortunately, British one expired last year).

Re: Benefits when turning 65?

Unfortunately the HR people used my Canadian passport to register last year. I am renewing my British one now so hope that will make life easier.
