Hi All,

My parents are comming to basel during chirstmas holidyas..since i just moved to basel a month back ..so really don't know about places to take them sightseeing in switzerland ..they plan to visit Paris for new year...and then venice...so any suggestions on places to go see in paris and also is it good to visit Venice in winter..?

Any other suggestions about places to visit in France and Germany are also greatly appreciated..

As it is their 1st europe trip..so i really want to make it memorable......so all your help is needed..

How long are they staying, Paris to Venice via Basel is already quite a trip.

Venice is great to visit at any time of year, but in Winter it gets pretty cold and windy. I would recommend at least 3 days in Venice and make sure you get on the boats and out to some of the other islands.
I would also recommend Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castles in Germany.

thanks for the info...!!! they will be here for around 25 days..so we have ample of time i guess....so do you know that how many days would be ideal to spend in Paris..??..we r planning on spend our new year there...any suggestions..??

I would spend a maximum of 3, but then I am not a huge fan of Paris.

If you go to Venice I would also say, carry on into Italy and at least hit Florence and Rome, at that time of year you will have the benefit of avoiding all the tourists.
