Just to prove that I can post some useful stuff from time to time, heres a breakdown of the weekly local markets in Bern :

• Traders' market: On Waisenhausplatz, all year round every Tuesday and Saturday. Also on Thursdays with late-night opening from the beginning of May to October.
• Vegetable, fruit and flower market: All year round on the Parliament square and Bärenplatz and in the neighboring streets, every Tuesday and Saturday morning. Daily from May to October on Bärenplatz.
• Food and flower market: Tuesday und Saturday morning on Münstergasse.
• Crafts market: From March to December on every first Saturday of the month on the Minster platform.
• Flea market: On Mühleplatz in the Matte every third Saturday of the month from May to October.

About these markets, there is a cheese stand that sells Alpkaese, Bio, up to two years old. They also have a web site, but I cannot remember the name of the Biohof that makes these cheeses. Does anyone remember?

The old cheese is so good, I want to serve some at a wedding..
