| | | Where to buy office supplies- cheap
Hi guys,
I really looked into other threads and also googled it but I am not sure I have found what I need.
I looked into office world and they are NOT cheap. So what I am looking for is:
-Paper bags (200 or so) in different sizes
-Packing material
-Packing boxes
-A mail scale
-Address Tags
Anyone could recommend a place?
Thanks
PS: Office world apparently do not have paper bags |

Presumably this is for your "start-up"?
Heading over to Germany or France might an option, but I'm guessing that if Office World isn't any good, I doubt it'll be cheaper anywhere else...

Paper bags might not be in a typical office supply place.
They are more likely to be found in a wholesaler that deals with small businesses - office world is more of a direct to consumer operation, if that makes any sense at all.
HAve you looked up this german term? Papiertragetaschen
Maybe this? http://www.tragetaschen-discount.de/ | | This user would like to thank edot for this useful post:

There's a (new) discount wholesale place opposite IKEA on the other side of the motorway at Pratteln - I have to admit that I have no idea what they sell - but it might be worth a look-see.

In Germany they have a huge Wholesale store silimar to the north american Costco called Metro... Metro has literally everything and in bulk quantities too. I've heard they also have something similar to this in Switzerland too. Could be Metro too or called something else. Anyone know? (Sorry, been living in Germany the last few years)

You'll probably have to shop around a little using different suppliers.
Here are couple - not necessarily the cheapest - but certainly reliable: www.ratioform.ch www.schaefer-shop.ch | | This user would like to thank Crumbs for this useful post:

I've posted this one before - might help you out for that .de website. | Quote: | | | | For those in and around Basel, you may be interested in a postal service provided by a company just over the border in Weil-am-Rein. http://www.serviceadresse.com/
Basically, they give you a (full) postal address that can have signed parcels delivered (so it is a step up from a post box). It costs you between €2-8 to pick up stuff (depending on size). You can be notified by sms (costs) or email (free) when packages arrive for you.
It is just over the border in the EU, so easy to get to and means you can avoid paying taxes on stuff if you are not sure whether the authorities are going to get you. Obviously, you can't claim tax back in this situation, but for large second-hand purchases, or where you think you aren't going to get a fair deal, or indeed for postage charges for items purchased in Germany (e.g. ebay.de) and the EU, it is useful. | | | | | | | This user would like to thank Carlos R for this useful post:

Angela, just a word of advice, by the time you worked out whether you can save 50 cents by buying here or there, any saving is lost with the time spent looking, postage costs or travelling costs.
You're just starting up if i'm right and you don't need so much. Gol dowm to Jumbo or Migros and pick up 50 of each and see how things work out.
To get discount on paper and stationary, think pallet loads rather than box loads

Thanks Charlie!
I finally found a company that is great and it was recommended by 2 EFers! I placed my order on friday and I had my delivery yesterday!
I got jsut boxes and a scale and in orders for more than 100 CHF postage is included, I decided to buy from it because as you say if I buy from abroad or keep looking Ill waste time and in the end Ill pay more in Taxes and shipping.
So here it goes: www.schaefer-shop.ch
Thanks guys for recommending it!

Migros often does 50% off office paper (2 packs à 500 A4 for 1). I always stock up for a few months when the offer's on. Keep an eye out - every 2 - 3 months iirc - and remember to take a shopping trolley with you | | This user would like to thank Crumbs for this useful post:

I asked my husband... he said they sell produce at wholesale as well as other products. You know what, I don't know (I just went by what he said) I will see if I can try and visit one and let you know | | This user would like to thank Puhutes for this useful post:
