I've got a hair phobia so I wish I was Amish, then I could choose not to do the plugholes, bottoms of the legs on chairs, toilet rims (ugh!), under the beds (from the dog), computer keyboards & behind the taps
Is that spring cleaning or flat inspection cleaning?

:P

Not quite traditional Swiss...It is a tradition in my country too (I am Romanian) and it is not related to spring, but to Easter. Every single corner of a house should be sterilized , every carpet, curtain should be dust free etc..
I love it too!
Oh right I see!!
A bit like the traditional Jewish Passover cleaning then ...

Re: Spring cleaning - A Swiss tradition!!

After I cleaned my house, I made the same with my computer.

Wow, more dust inside than in my whole house.....

Re: Spring cleaning - A Swiss tradition!!

It's a tradition in the UK too (allegedly) and I can see why. At this time of year you open curtains, blinds, windows more to allow the beautiful light and sunshine in but the minute you do it highlights every damn speck of dust, dirt and all those pesky smears.

Re: Spring cleaning - A Swiss tradition!!

I'm so glad nobody's asking me to come over and clean their house.

But the kid next door would like to make some pocket money I'm sure. Why not hire him/her to help you out.
