Spring cleaning - A Swiss tradition!!

My oh my. I can't stop it. I just have to do it. Clean out every single corner of my sweet home.
It's a tradition here and know what, I love it.

Anyone else caught that spring cleaning virus yet? Ciao, need to continue ...

I am a house hubby and my Swiss miss tells me I should do some more cleaning and not spend so much time in forums like this

Re: Spring cleaning - A Swiss tradition!!

started it today - definitely have a love/hate relationship with this sort of thing.

I prefer starting it a bit later in the day....a nice little Cosmo goes a long way toward the sorting and organizing, then it all gets thrown into a box till next year

I should be finishing up for the day.......instead I'm sitting here posting

Re: Spring cleaning - A Swiss tradition!!

Actually this should be done in Community Party style like the Amish do.

Like some do all the curtains, others clean the windows, some do repairs, etc. etc. etc.
and some should set up tables & chairs outside if possible and have plenty of yummy food & drinks ready!!!

As long as we don't have to raise a barn after that!

A love/hate relationship indeed -- I seem to put it off day after day, dreading the thought of having to scrub and clean, but then when the urge is finally strong enough, it feels so good to take apart a room, make it clean, and put it all back together again.

Something about Spring does really make me want to "freshen up" the apartment, though! It makes me want to open all the windows to let in the sun, air and bird song.

Not quite traditional Swiss...It is a tradition in my country too (I am Romanian) and it is not related to spring, but to Easter. Every single corner of a house should be sterilized , every carpet, curtain should be dust free etc..
I love it too!

Re: Spring cleaning - A Swiss tradition!!

I've got a hair phobia so I wish I was Amish, then I could choose not to do the plugholes, bottoms of the legs on chairs, toilet rims (ugh!), under the beds (from the dog), computer keyboards & behind the taps
