Intro -- and bean bag beans!

Hi,

Moved to Bern with my husband a few months ago from Perth, Western Australia. The forums have provided a useful source of general info (as well as distraction)

I have here also a very specific query...

Anybody know where to get bean bag refills in Bern? Failing that, Zurich will do as well (since my husband works in Zurich and commutes daily).

Thanks!

cyrat

Thanks Polorise!

We tried Migros DIY but they only came in teeny weeny bags and we felt a bit silly if we were to buy about 50 bags of the stuff. Though as a last resort....

Didn't think to check Globus or Loeb (looked a bit too upmarket), but we'll try next weekend...

Hi Cyrat,

hope you are liking it here in Switzerland/Bern.

A good friend of mine has a good local source for loose bean bag beans, (Styroporkügelchen in Deutsch). She used to make those banana shaped nursing cushions.

I'll get back to you on that one, they are on holiday right now.

Cheers,

Ros

Hey, cool thanks Ros, that sounds ideal

We are liking CH very much, and all its idiosyncrancies (laundry rules and all that ), the views to die for, everything running like clockwork. Oh and the novelty of mountains (coming from Australia )

I'm sure Zurich has places like this as well, still, here is where you may find loose bean bag beans, that are a bit closer to home.

Krankenhausweg 2, 3110 Münsingen.

You bring whatever it is you want filled, they have a big filler/funnel that can fill all you want. Price, 18 SFs per kilo.

Achtung!! (Beware!!) typically impossible sidestreet, tiny, with very little close by parking and they are notorious in Münsingen for hiding behind bushes/hydrants to nab you for wrong parking! Experience and the locals say the same....

Can give you closer details if you need...

Re: Intro -- and bean bag beans!

Well, found the place, and our bean bag is nicely filled. Thanks Ros for the gem of an info, we would never have found this one on our own!

Re: Intro -- and bean bag beans!

To residents of Muensingen, if you saw a couple walking down the main street today towards the Bahnhof, the tall male carrying a large red bean bag, yeah that was us
