Where to watch live Football/Soccer? [Football stadiums]

My brother is coming over from the States next month and it turns out that he is a big fan of the footies. He would like to attend a "Real" football match whilst he is over here.

Is there any thing that I should know?

What matches are available?
How much should I expect to pay?
Are there better venues?

I live in the Lausanne area but I would be willing to travel almost anywhere for the "right stuff."

Just for more information, my brother mentioned the following...

Quote:
Bayern Munich in finals in Berlin on May 15th..........how cool would that be?

Carouge is just south of Geneva........any idea how much tickets are?

I enjoy watching WORLD CUP, EURO CUP and ENGLISH PREMIERE LEAGUE on TV.....especially in HD!

Maybe even a Bundesliga game?

The only option would be Saturday Night in Freiberg, Germany just north of Basel.........200 miles from Geneva.
I am dead ignorant about this stuff.

Thanks for any advice and/or help,
Brian.

Re: Where to attend live professional Football/Soccer matches?

Hello,
can a mod change the original Title of this thread to the one on this post?
Or can someone at least tell me how to do it myself. (I see no edit button on the original post.)

I am not getting any replies and wonder if the title is misleading.
I am not looking for a pub or such like.
I am looking for the real thing, live, up close and in person.

THanks,
Brian.

The last matches of the season in Switzerland are 16th May. On that date there is a Young Boys (Berne) v Basel match in Berne which may be the decider of who wins the championship (they are currently in 1st & 2nd positions with 3 points separating them. I just checked for you, but unfortunately, tickets are sold out ! you never know you might find some on anibis.ch
That's probably as good as you'll get in Switzerland. However that is nothing compared with a good match in UK or Italy (probably France & Germany too, though I don't really know these championships).
Also last date of the season in Italy, if you go to http://www.onlineticketexpress.com/e...w&event_id=728 you can see AC Milan v Juventus ticket details. Expensive but if it's anything like the AC Milan matches I've seen, a fantastic experience your brother will love.
