Where can one buy painting supplies?

We finally have an apartment, and I'm dying to add some color to the walls. Where does one go in Zurich for paint/rollers/tape/dropcloths?

Thanks,

Ranjit

Re: Where can one buy painting supplies?

I assume you've already checked w/ your landlord re: painting/ responsibility for repainting before you move out.

That out of the way, Jumbo has pretty much all the supplies you'll need and I think they are generally cheaper than Migros Do It & Garten or Coop Bau & Hobby. There's a Jumbo @ Hardbrucke, a Coop Bau & Hobby @ Max-Bill-Platz in Neu-Oerlikon and a Migros Do It & Garten near the Oerlikon Banhof. But their websites should let you know where the nearest ones are to your particular address...

Have fun!

Before you run out and buy paint, if you are a tenant, and not an owner, you better read your lease. It likely contains a clause that says major changes need to be approved and also that you need to put things back to the way they were when you move out.

That being said, you can liven up the place without painting. Fabric prints, wall hangings, nice window treatments and pictures can help.
