Hi

I am looking for a bit of help. Having looked on the forum (I am still pretty crap at finding my way round) and on the net, now i am more confused than ever as to where i must apply for my permit.

I am an EU national, and have just received a job offer. I move to Bern on monday, and need to register and get my ausweis, but i have not a clue where the office is! Can anyone help?!

I am still learning german, and the sites i and up on are in either german or french. Plus i am not really sure of the name of what i am looking for!!

Please help!

If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be most grateful.

You may have to drill down to find the address but it's there somewhere.

Perhaps before you get to taking up permanent residence you might wish to compare the taxes between Bern and somewhere in an adjoining canton - pretty well any adjoining canton...
