Am quite sure this question has been raised a few times, but the threads are quite old and the rules keep changing?

I would just like to know how much time does it normally take for Dependent visa processing for L permit holders (in Zurich canton).

Do share your experience.

if u have submitted all the documents required.it wont take more than a month.
And now they made biometric,so u will get it in a month of time.

It Depends, But as I know It use to take more than 8 weeks before 1 year or so. But If all documents are in order and once it is submitted, It should not take more than 4 weeks.

Finally submitted the documents yesterday (hey the wedding was a couple of weeks ago).
Now we wait, with christmas just round the corner, maybe it would take longer.

Wow...i didn't know it could happen in 10 days! Everyone's been telling me 6-8 weeks.

Okay i have this information that the documents have been forwarded to authorities in Switzerland now from embassy in India, any idea how much time does this part of the process take?

(waiting is No fun, and just want to set the expectations right with my wifey).

For my wife it took only 12 days... On 23rd dec 2011, I submitted all documents and on 4th Jan 2012, they called and told the visa is ready.. In my case, spouse is US citizen.

I have reached a weird state, the processing is being handled by my organization. Yesterday I visited the kreisburo but they directed me to Migrationsamt.
I did drop a mail to them and they replied they haven't recieved anything, while VFS back home (which handles parts of visa processing for the embassy) mentioned it has been sent to Switzerland.
Should I visit Migrationsamt personally and check with them, as i am getting confusing replies!

My final update, approval came in today.
It took longer due to a few goof ups from my agent's side. But am glad the wait is over now!

Total time it took was : 2.5 months
However, if one does everything correctly the total process should not take more than 6 weeks, right from applying in India to approval.

2 months and a lot of followups..
