Exchange Rates at the US Embassy Bern

Dear forum members,

If you go to the US embassy in Bern, or to the consulates in ZH or GE, you have the option of paying in either USD or CHF for your transactions. DON'T EXPECT a favorable exchange rate.

As of last Friday, the rate was 100 USD = 90 CHF. This does not correlate to the market rate of 100 USD = 75 CHF.

Your credit card will be charged in the CHF rate also, not the US dollar. So, buyer beware!
