Didn't Switzerland negotiate an agreement that would have allowed many of us with Swiss residence permits to travel to and through the Schengen area without need for visas after Jan 2008?
We got talking to the border police who stopped us on the way back from Germany last week, and the gentleman there told us there was no such thing happening!!
So did i imagine reading that bit of good news ??? Or was our friendly border police simply ignorant ??
Re: Schengen for Swiss residents ... rules changed?
Indeed they did, basically non-EU B permit holders are, in theory, allowed to transit EU countries for not more than 72h...
However, my own Embassy (S. Africa), advised that this is not being effected at border control posts. Typical beaurocracy that i personally don't see changing anytime soon.
