Make a police report, and then ring up the US Embassy:

| To replace a lost/stolen/mutilated passport, or a passport expired more than five years ago, you must appear personally at the Embassy in Bern or the Consular Agency in Zurich or Geneva. **Please check if the Embassy or Consular Agencies are closed here** You do not need an appointment if applying in Bern or Geneva but must schedule an appointment in Zurich . (Please note: replacement passports will take longer to process at the Zurich or Geneva Consular Agencies. If you require a new passport as soon as possible, you should submit your application in person at the Embassy in Bern.) You should submit your application for a replacement passport as soon as possible, since it may not be possible to replace your passport within one working day.
At the time of your visit, you will be required to complete/present the following documentation:
An application form for replacement passport, form DS-11
A completed application form DS-64, Statement regarding lost or stolen passport
Evidence of your United States citizenship: (Originals) e.g.:
A U.S. birth certificate
Naturalization Certificate
Certificate of Citizenship
Consular Report of Birth Abroad
An expired U.S. Passport
Identification: (with a photograph) e.g.:
Driver's License
Foreign passport
Identity card
Swiss Residence permit
All my ID's were stolen along with my passport. Now what do I do?
Call the U.S. Embassy in Bern before your visit. This will enable us to prepare certain documentation to save time when you appear in person. You will need to bring along two color photographs and the cash anmount in U.S. Dollars or Swiss Francs. Passport photograph requirements are strictly enforced. | |
