How much notice for changing permit?

Hi guys, I originally posted this in 'Ausweis: Changed cantons' but decided to delete it from there as it went off a bit... lol

So......

Does anyone know how much notice you are legally supposed to give before you actually leave the canton in regards to changing your permit because of the move?

Or can it be done after the date you move?

The reason I ask is that I currently don't have a 'valid' permit in my hands as they are in the process of applying for a permit C.

Apparently it can take up to 3 months at the moment, by which time I will have moved to a new canton - Geneva to be exact (back again!)

Should I mention it now (it's been 3 weeks already) or wait a little longer (2 weeks or so) by which time I might actually have my new permit but in 'C' flavour!

What to do??

You need to go to talk to your friendly guys in the aliens bureau and tell them about your situation. These things happen and they will reroute your application. But better to do it now than later...

I checked with 'Contrôle de l'habitant' and they just handed me a form to fill in. The said that they would just transfer the C Permit process over from VD to GE.

So assez-simple!
