This is my first post to this forum and seeking for a help in regarding to Bringing my Wife to Switzerland while having a B permit.

I just got an offer from a Swiss company and will be coming to Basel soon. i want my wife to join here with me soon after i start to work here.

I have done court marrige in registrar office in one of the Indian state. now i want to know what will be the right procedure to bring her here.

Any help in this regard will be appriciated.

I'm no expert so I'd suggest you contact the Geminde to clarify the situation however; recently my friend got a job here and need her husband to join her (he didn't have a job).

She moved from the UK and received an Auslanderausweis B and then asked about her husband joining her. She was told that he'll receive a B too but it would only be valid for 1 year and that during the year, she'll be contacted by the Migratsamt asking her to update the situation. If he hasn't got a job by then, she has to sign to say she's sponsoring him. If he has got a job it'll be fine.

I used to work for a large international company here where wives often moved to Switzerland to join their husbands, it was never a problem. If you're undsure of what to do, I'd sufferer you ask the HR department for their assistance.

You need to get your marriage certificate legalised in India, and demonstrate sufficient income and living space (if your wife follows later) in Switzerland. If your wife applies from the Swiss embassy in Qatar for her family reunion visa, be prepared for paperwork and a long wait, since the marriage certificate might be sent to India for verification.

You are right, maybe you have to wait almost three months (my case) and get married in Zurich
