| | | May my Ukrainian partner follow me to Switzerland?
Hello,
I am new in this forum. I found some really good information about things I was looking for. But I really need help in this:
I am EU citizen and I'll go to work in Switzerland in some months. My girlfriend is from Ukraine. Is there any possibility or any way that she can follow me there?
Does anyone knows something that can I do or at least where can I find official information about that?
Thank you

No. Only if you marry her.
Partnership doesn’t qualify for residency except few cantons, but it must be registered for a couple of years anyway, so that is not your case.

Well that depends on how well you cover your tracks, and how good the private investigator that she hires is.
Seriously though, and I'm assuming you're not doing a runner, then marriage is probably the only guaranteed way, although someone here, who is better versed in Swiss immigration than I, may be able to advise on alternatives

Thank you guys for the information.
As I understood things are very hard for us
Does anyone knows something else? Or where can I ask somewhere officially about this? I read something about depended persons or something like this. We cannot do anything like this?
At least with a schengen visa she will be able to come to visit me or something? Please I really need information about the immigration policy and what else can I do
thank you all

There's a Swiss embassy in Ukraine, she can contact them directly and inquire, they have a website, http://www.swissvac-ua.com/. Just get married | Quote: | | | | | Thank you guys for the information.

Hello again. Any other idea about my occasion?
Is there any special lawyer or consultant who can advice me and help with the procedures?
Thank you

Thank you | | | | | You didn't like the ideas above?
She can come here either independently (EG to work or study) and so be here at the same time as you but with an unconnected permit, or you can get married and she can be here as a dependent of yours under family reunification rules (as long as they believe that its not a scam when interviewed)
Don't think there are other options - but there are LOADS of such threads here, maybe you can search a little bit

I searched already, but I understand that every case is completely unique and different (different nationalities etc, etc.). | Quote: | | | | | sorry but what have you done to help yourself find out the information needed in the 4 months since you first posted this question ???........surely if you were so in love and wanted your GF here then you should by now know more than us | | | | | I am not in Switzerland yet. So...I didn't do anything about it because was not sure if I will move in Switzerland or not. I Of course I want her with me but I needed to know if she can come to me. Either you're married in which case she can follow you, or you're not - in which case she MAY follow you IF you assume financial responsibility for her (and the authorities deem your financial guarantees sufficient). So yeah, each case is different, but they only fall in two different boxes.
You haven't really searched, have you.

Toefan your location says clearly 'Zurich' so how can anyone guess you are still 'back home'. Not always easy to help without the correct information. Bonne chance.
Marriage, BEFORE coming over, may well be the only solution. You seem to love her very much and really want her with you, so what's the problem.
All those years ago, the only way my OH and I could be together was to get married- before the reciprocal agreements with UK - so we did. Crazy as we only knew each other for a few months, and I was only 20. 41 years ago.
She can't be that important to you if you can't see yourself commit to this woman.

Perhaps the OP can confirm?
If I am correct there is little chance of her following you even if married as I sure the Swiss Authorities spidey-senses will be tingling 'marriage of convenience' over this one...

| | | | | I'm not sure whether they can block it on a hunch though, I think that they need to prove it ie the burden of proof is theirs, it isn't for the couple to prove that the marriage is genuine (how would they do that?)
For the visa for my wife, we got a questionnaire to fill in about how we met, how we communicated, when we met etc etc and filled it in truthfully and fully and it was granted without any follow up

We are 2 years together. She was studying in my country for 1 year. After she went back to Ukraine since she couldn't stay without visa. She was there with student visa.
The same time I left to study in UK. But during the second year I went to Ukraine to visit her 6 times. And we have been together in other countries for vacations. Of course she is not a penpal. I love her and I want her with me.
I am planning to marry her but I need first to settle somewhere and then to do all the paper work that I need. I am afraid and I am confused. Coz maybe even if we will get married maybe she will not be able to come to me. Is there any other similar cases?
Thanx for your replies. I am planning to put a lawyer to do everything as soon as I will move there.

Now every time that I am going to Ukraine of course I am living to her house. If this is helpful.
Thanx for your help and your time. Really.
