so we now no Switzerland wont allow long term de facto relationships even though ours is over 4 years. I am English and my (now) wife is Korean, but we are still waiting on immigration, she had to apply in Seoul, after we got married, that meant me flying back to Korea after starting work. The question I wanted to ask is does anyone have actual experience of how long the process takes to get the visa from applying, we really miss each other!!

I am a non-EU and I have been given the run around of my life for 7 months (by the Swiss embassy) till now. It took me five months only to get my documents submitted at the embassy. They kept on giving me run around and wasted all this time. Finally, I submitted my application in September and it is now more than two months since the submission. Today, my wife's (EU citizen) employer checked and we found out that they have sent some letter asking for more information from my wife in Switzerland. I have yet to get it to know what they are asking for. Another guy who I communicated with on this forum is waiting for his wife to come for more than 6 months. According to him, it may take upto a full year to get the visa for some people.

between 6 months to 1 year..... Patience is the key... Submit all your documents with certified translation.... Else it will be more delayed.... I am also in this phase.. I am non EU and wife US citizen... Now I am mainly in getting their requested documents...
