Hi, I'm Yesh from India. My husband is on L Type visa in switzerland & I would be joining him by march/April 2012. I would be moving on a dependent L type visa. The question which is stuck on my mind is " Will I be able to work there"? I have 7 years of experience & currently working as an asst. Manager in supply chain industry. I am a post graduate in Human resource. It would be appreciated if some one in this forum can help me get the answer for my question.

If you find a company (a) willing to hire you and (b) willing to jump through the hoops of securing you a working permit, then yes, you can work. However, (b) is tricky, particularly if you don't speak the local language or have specialized experience. There are many other questions/experiences on the forum (search on "L permit" not L visa)

I am writing this from my experience. It is very very difficult for L dependent to get a job. In one word it is highly impossible especially for non-EU. To get a B permit, a person should complete 24 months of stay in switzerland and very less chance of getting B permit after 24 months of stay. Before resigning from your job, do a thorough research and then decide. If you are not career oriented and want to take a break, enjoy the beauty of switzerland, then this is the best place.

Is it fine if I send my resume to my husband who is in switzerland now so that he can start circulating it & by the time i reach there i.e. March end/April at least I will be able to get some contacts to move further? Let me know if this will work in switzerland.
