The abstract of Marriage is not the same as the truth.

Hi all
I have never been posting anything on this but always come to read and get some information.
I am thai, I was in Switzerland for 2 and a half year. (Feb2009- August 2011) for school.
So I just came back and I just got married to my boyfriend on Oct. (Non-EU, C permit holder)
I applied for family reunion visa and its on process now. Today my husband got the letter from the immigration to ask normal question like how did we know each other, when , or etc.
So when i applied for family reunion visa, one of document required is the abstract of marriage (or marriage certificate) which we have to translate it into german.
One of the sentence said that " We have been living together for 2 years"
which actually not true. I told the officer that its not true (I noticed this when we already signed the paper) *(the officer was asking me how long have I been in Switzerland, so she assumed and misunderstood that I and my husband are 2 years together, that is why she wrote we lived 2 years togerther)

I asked them to correct it and she told us that the paper cant correct, only add more information but cannot correct the info.)

Then it was fine till now. The question from the immigration asked that Since when exactly me and my husband known each other?

We didnt want to lie to the immigration that we lived together already for 2 years because we actually are one 1 year together. But in the marriage paper said we lived together for 2 years. So they will notice that is something wrong...

So I would like you all suggestion... If we should explain them what is the truth on the question they sent? or We should just tell them we known each other 2 years already following to the marriage paper?

Which one is the best solution? You all think? Any suggestion would be really appreciated.

Thank you

If a Swiss office have something in writing, they like to stick to it. I know this wont help your moral question but it may save you a lot of blood ,sweat and tears.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Re: The abstract of Marriage is not the same as the truth.

I would like to thanks to you
But I chose to tell them the truth and I got family reunification right after 1 week. I got visa after approximately 28 days after I applied
Now I am here, just right on time for Xmas and New Year eve.
So I believed Swiss stick to the writing but they as well appreciate honesty

Cheers
