Any updates on this proposed law that was under discussion in March 2011? New law foresaw only C permit holders who have lived in Switzerland for 8 years can apply for and receive citizenship via the regular naturalization path (provided they are "well-integrated" and pass all cantonal and community requirements; cantonal and communal residency requirement cannot exceed 3 years).

Is this law going to be put forward in parliament (and possibly be subject to a nationwide referendum) or has it been tossed away?

I read somewhere it would be decided early 2012 . Fingers crossed !

Seems the debate is being postponed and the prospects don't seem good for this new law!
