Hello guys,

I have enrolled at the University of Berne, Switzerland to do a Masters degree in Computer Science. In order to apply for a student visa, I have to submit my application to the Swiss Embassy in Amman, Jordan. In order to get my visa issued, I should send my visa application at least 8 weeks before my course starts in Berne University which will be in 21/2/2012. I am still waiting for some documents from Berne University so I will be able to go to the Swiss Embassy and apply for the visa. My question is: Does it really take 8 weeks to get my student visa issued or does it take shorter than 8 weeks? I have got only now 6 weeks left to get my visa done and do not know whether there is enough time to apply for the student visa. I would be very grateful if anybody may answer my question?

Some time it takes more than 8 weeks. Because first it is required to get permission from canton and after that from federal office of migration. So hope for the best.

If I submitted my application late, would they consider my application and issue a Student visa?
