As being a student and travel thats been always a hardest subject infact.Today, i cancelled all my trip to hongkong to nepal to geneva back just because i cannot wait longer than 2 weeks for visa processing as i confirmed my ticket to 20th of january already with qatar airwys only because the consolate women said it takes only four working days for visa . ,But when i go this morning they said it takes a more than a month just because i'am nepali and they need send my documents to hongkong for review .How much it is resonable to bring political shit in between people's normal life because she also talk about chinese nad nepali political aspects.Because of this i lose around 500 swiss franc for ticket cancellation and already paid hongkong ticket price.Btw i already hold swiss b-permit

It's never a good idea to book tickets before your visa is confirmed...

BTW, it'll never be fast for a third-country citizen to apply for a visa - Like the OP's case, the normal workflow would be that his case will be forwarded to the Chinese embassy in Nepal to get processed then sent back. His B permit means nothing in this process.
