| Dependent B Permit
Folks, I realise that this question must have been asked a thousand times so apologies for the repetition but I would be grateful for any thoughts/help.
I'm an EU citizen, with a B permit living & working in Switzerland. My girlfriend, a US citizen, lives & works in Germany. We have plans to get married in the very near future and our wish is for both of us to live & work in Switzerland. I understand that the only real way for this to happen is for her to apply for a dependent B permit after we get married. But for her to apply for the dependent B permit, she must be living in Switzerland. Since she already has a job, we would rather not take a chance in having her resign from her job, move to Switzerland and then look for a job here (always easier to get a job when you have a job!). While commuting from Switz to Germany may be an option, it would not be preferrable. She would have to change her residency from Germany to Switz and we're not sure what her company would think about that. It might be possible for her to apply for a dependent B permit (but continue to live in Germany) but to indicate on the form that she is living in Switzerland but not sure if that would work? Having a B permit when applying for jobs in Switz is always a great advantage, hence our desire to find a solution. Unfortunately, a transfer to Switzerland within her existing company is not possible.
Has anybody gone through a similar experience?
