Swiss Integration Contract

Dear all,
I got a B-Permit for me and the family after being here for 2 years on L-Permit.

and within 2 days of getting my B-Permit contrcat we recieved letters, whihc roughly translated means.....as an Auslander....come and sign an Integration contrcat on 31st Jan at the Migration Office.

I think it also states attending some kind of Deutschkurs might be obligatory.

I could not find more details about it on the web.

Has anyone signed a contrcat like this yet?
Any more details would be helpful.

regards--a_D

Re: Swiss Integration Contract

Yes, I assume you are a non-EU citizen

You are required to show that you can integrate and need to get to a certain level of proficiency in the relevant national language. Its a very low level of language needed and you usually get a long time (a year?) in which to complete it and get a certificate.

It will feel like a pain in the ass, but its worth it to be honest

Re: Swiss Integration Contract

Is this a new policy? Does it stem from the Canton, Commune or is it a federal requirement?

AFAIK it's a Federal requirement enforced and interpreted at Cantonal level and I think was introduced for non-EU migrants in 2008.

Others here know more though

interesting. I'm also non-EU had had never heard of this before. Been back on a B permit for more than a year and no letter.

Could it be that it's my 2nd time in CH on a B permit, last time was mid 2003 through end 2004 or is it because Canton Vaud handles it differently ?

that's a good question.
I am also trying to find out if this is either a profiled or random selection of certain non EU, B-Permit holders....
OR is it a uniform law applied to all the non EU B permits in the Canton
