Student Permit / Leave of Absence

Hello everyone,

I'm a non-EU student @ ETHZ. What happens to my permit if I take a semester-long leave of absence from university to do an internship in another country? Can I somehow pause it? When I come back will I be able to work, or will I have to wait for 6 months again? Cheers!
