Hi there, just been offered a job in Thonex, near Geneva, the lady told me that I can work without the visa, and just put the application in after I have started work. I have also been told by her that it takes months to get the work visa.

Is this all true? I learnt that I can't step a foot in work without a visa? Is this common practice?

I live on the Franco/Swiss border, forgot to mention
