| So I posted an application for the renewal of my son's passport to the UK embassy in Paris last Tuesday. Letter tracking showed it arrived on Thursday, and to my disbelief the renewed passport was delivered to our apartment today - only 7 days later.
That is incredibly good service! Three cheers for the UKPA I say!
I have a question for fellow Brits though: I noticed that his place of birth is now listed as the London borough he was born in as opposed to "London" or "UK." Seems a bit odd to me, do you think it's anything to worry about? | |

No. It's just more accurate, presuming that this is what's listed on the Birth certificate. My passport gives Derby as place of birth, although my BC lists Shardlow, which was where it was registered, for some reason. These differences are irrelevant, IMO.
As for the service, yes, good, innit? Mine was last renewed about five years back, from the Paris office which now (then?) deals with all euro passport renewals. All a hell of a lot easier than it was just a year or three earlier, when my wife's was renewed via a local (Basel) vice-consul and the Embassy in Bern or Geneva(I misremember which). Almost Swiss-like in their efficiency. Be worried
