| Hello. I am a non-EU citizen with L-permit working in Zurich since April 2011. I have been informed by my employer that my employment shall be terminated on 31 March 2012, at the time of L-permit expire.
By the end of March, I would have received 12 months salary and paid 12 months unemployment contribution. I would like to know... - What will happen to my L-permit after March 31? Will I be allowed to stay?
- Will I will be entitled to unemployment benefits?
I went to RAV and they said I should be entitled to my benefits but I wanted to confirm. Very much concerened... | |

I do understand your situation. It is indeed a difficult situation to deal with.
I am no expert. BUT if RAV has confirmed, I think you are quite covered. Please request them to provide letter or something so you feel quite assured.
Secondly, any questions related to your permit should be addressed to Immigrationsamt. The staff there is quite helpful and you get responses directly from correct POC. I think you can get an appointment with Immigration officer and get all your concerns sorted.
I would also use next two months for creating a back-up: searching for another job, preparing applications, getting interviews, education sponsoring student permit etc.
Finally, dont loose hope.
