I have been told that it is possible for a non-EU passport holder to get a 12 month tourist visa, with no limit on days spent in country, if you; (a) Show that you can support yourself financially. (B) Have medical insurance and (C) sign a document stating that you wont work in Switzerland during this time.
Has anybody heard of such a visa?

Gibbsy, where did you find it in the link? I have been looking for 10 mins now and couldn't find the relevant information. All I could gather was in the case someone needs to stay for longer than 90 days, they need a residence permit. But I couldn't location the details on how to apply!
