I'm wondering if anyone might know how long it typically takes for an attested Swiss criminal record extract to be processed and delivered to the UK, from the Strafregister.
Would be great to hear of your experiences if anyone else has had to order one. Of course, I'm hoping it will be quick...!

If you do it online they'll send you a certified pdf copy, which is acceptable to UK organisations (at least 2, in my case). Took less than a day in my case, IIRC, although best leave a few days to be sure. Details in English here.

I've already ordered it by post, having understood that you can only order it online with a SwissID. Because it has to be attested, they say on their website that it will take longer than the simple one, but they don't say how much longer. That's really my question.

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure that mine was sent by post too. First filling in the online form, then signing it and sending it with copies of the required documents. But the actual extract was sent back to me as a pdf, not to anyone in the UK, and as I said I think it was sent (or rather, and email with the download link was sent) the next day. I recall the SwissID thing, but I don't have it so I just needed to copy my C permit and passport.

The pdf can be validated on the same website - quite simple really, and much better than the last time I needed this five years earlier.
