NON-EU with a studen B permit applying for work permit in Switzerland

I am non-EU with a student B permit, graduated from a Swiss university.
My potential employer will apply for a work permit very soon. My questions:
1. Do I have to apply for a work visa at the Swiss embassy in my home country (visa D)? If yes -- it is bad, since I am here in Switzerland.
2. Provided that I get a work visa, do I have to leave Switzerland and collect the visa at the embassy of my home country?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: NON-EU with a studen B permit applying for work permit in Switzerland

From what I know, your employer applies the permit, Kanton and Bern approve permit. Your employer sends you the work permit PDF. You go to Kreisburo with employment contract and work permit. You receive physical permit in some weeks. Also, you start working at the same time and get lot of bucks
However, I would appreciate if an expert or some student who has done it throws more light on your situation.

Sounds great. So in this situation one can start working before the 'physical permit' is obtained from the Kreisbuero ? I.e., right after obtaining the work permit PDF?
Sounds good considering the fact that no any oversees Swiss embassies are going to be involved...
